4Unique type of children book
By Denis Vukosav
‘Rupert Can Dance’ written and illustrated by Jules Feiffer is unique type of children book about the cat named Rupert who wanted his love for dancing to remain only his secret.Rupert is cute cat who lives with a girl named Mandy. All of the time Mandy is giving dancing lessons to Rupert and after watching her day and night, when night fell Rupert wanted to try dancing alone. He tiptoed over to Mandy’s closer and slipped on her dancing shoes, dancing the night away. And though Rupert hoped his dancing time will remain secret, Mandy will find out what is happening while she sleeps…‘Rupert Can Dance’ is an entertaining and nice book for children who love cats and dancing, but more importantly it emphasizes the importance of friendship between humans and animals.Speaking about the artwork, Feiffer created his book using pencil and crayons which resulted in not so detailed but still appealing and lively illustrations for kids aged 3 to 5.Overall, ‘Rupert Can Dance’ is nice story that can be recommended from author who previously made ‘Bark, George’ and illustrated ‘The Phantom Tollbooth’ written by Norton Juster, though not Jules Feiffer best work.

5Awesome artwork, great message
By Jill Randall
One of my favorite dance related books of 2014! Awesome illustrations capture dancing and the energy of movement. The book conveys a feeling common with many children who have a passion for something like dance but want to do it on their own terms.
