In the latest installment of Nancy Krulik's popular George Brown, Class Clown series, George is preparing for picture day, and his friend Alex is preparing to break the Schminess World Record for the largest ABC (Already Been Chewed) gumball. It's always a challenge to find age appropriate material for a young reader. My son is 8 years old and was able to read the entire book on his own. I gather it had funny moments, as he would spontaneously burst with laughter. He's asked for the others in the series. Definitely a good book for the young reader that starts to read independently.
