Great book for homeschoolers!

My 2nd grade son is absolutely enthralled with this book. It packs a powerful scientific punch alongside fun pop-ups and flaps that really hold his attention. We read it together, he reads it alone - this book is definitely his go-to choice right now.There are 14 different science topics: atoms, the water cycle, mixtures, chemical reactions, force, gravity, magnetism, machines, friction, energy, light, heat, electricity and materials. Each two-page spread discusses a new science topic with tidbits of information, experiments to try, scientist bios and more - and it goes pretty deep. I like that he'll be able to use the book for a few more years, picking up on more and more each time.I also like how well it connects the science to real things that children are familiar with because it helps my son grasp the sometimes tough concepts easily. He is engaged, asking questions, making connections (even outside the book) and that makes for a very happy homeschool momma.

This is one of those books that inspires learning. Your child opens it up and is delighted with surprise after surprise while learning science in bite size chunks. But those bits of information can serve as inspiration for a child to continue to explore scientific learning outside of the book. With ideas for hands on experiments, lift-a-flap, pull tabs and more this brightly colored, kid-friendly, science learning book is a great addition to any child's library.

The book is really good, with nice illustrations and even interactive content that you can pull/push/rotate etc. Great start for lovers of natural science.
