5Bad Kitty learns about plots, themes, and how to get her MacGuffin.
By Amazon Customer
Another great Bad Kitty book. My son and I read this one together, since we had read all of the previous books together too. What I liked:The author weaved in words associated with writing a book (MacGuffin, plot, theme, etc.) rather nicely, so it was definitely educational and entertaining at the same time. Also loved: Showing us how he draws Bad Kitty. We actually had a contest between my son and myself to see who could draw Bad Kitty the best. I lost. What I didn't:Bad Kitty wasn't as naughty as I was expecting. She was a little too tame! Also, Puppy was more of a minor character (or should I say antagonist?) in this book. But all in all, we both loved the latest adventures of Bad Kitty.Recommend: Browse through the glossary at the end before you read this one. It will help reinforce the concepts introduced

5Bad Kitty Teaching You How to write1
By Randi Morse
The Bad Kitty books are always hilarious, but this book is different than the others. In this book, Nick Bruel, author and illustrator, teaches children how to write a good book - with the help of Kitty herself, of course. My daughter and I had a blast reading it, and she is now doing her best to draw Kitty herself and is talking about the type of stories she can create with Kitty. I feel like this would be a fantastic book for schools to utilize, but it's great for home too!

5Bad Kitty: Drawn to Trouble by Nick Bruel
By Kaleena E. Melotti
Bad Kitty Drawn to Trouble was such a cute book! It's a cute and unique take on introducing 7-9 year old children to writing and illustrating their own stories. From the get-go, this short book breaks down the fourth wall and talks directly to the reader. The entire first chapter is Nick Bruel introducing himself and Kitty, with a step-by-step guide on how to draw her.The book continues on introducing the reader to character development, conflict, plot, and theme, showcasing these new words with definitions and examples in a fun way! After I finished it (in approximately 10 minutes), I handed it over to my 8 year old daughter who devoured the first 40 some pages with giggles before we had to take a break for supper. And, even then, she kept telling me ideas for a story that she had.The book itself is relatively short. Most pages don't have more than a paragraph or two on them, each with nearly full page illustrations to make the most of showing the young reader precisely what he's teaching them about. This is a great book for kids to get their imaginations working in high gear on their own stories! Even I can't wait to see my daughter comes up with after learning from Bruel and Kitty!
