Dragon's Extraordinary Egg Details

In this heartwarming story, a dragon in need of an egg finds an abandoned egg in need of a mommy. It seems like the perfect fit, but when that egg hatches, the little baby doesn't look like all the other dragons. In fact, he looks a lot like a penguin! Of course, his mommy loves him no matter what. But the other young dragons aren't so sure. Little do they know that their feathered friend's differences will save the day! Sometimes things happen for a reason . . . and some families are just meant to be together.

4Wonderful read along book for mothers and daughters
By Sunshine on A Rainy Day
Dragons come to stay in the land of the penguins. When the spring comes, all the dragons have eggs except for one. She walks off on her own and finds an egg. She cares for it until it hatches. It is not a dragon. Dragon cares for the little one and teaches her everything she can with lots of love even though the little one cannot do what the other dragons can. One day the big dragons must go away leaving the young ones behind. The dragons are not nice to the little one and hurt her feelings. She goes on a walk and finds... you guessed it, a lonely egg.The illustrations appear to be done in pastels. At times they are a bit dark and unclear, but at other times completely adorable. This was a cute story within a story with an ending that brings a happy tear to your eye. Some of the story felt a bit out of place, but the theme of love throughout as well as the theme of "sometimes things happen for a reason" was what wins the day for this book. I would recommend for ages 4-8 as well as a wonderful read along for mothers and daughters.

"The best bits were about mummies and grandmas. Also one dwagon was nice to the little one, and then after the little one found an egg, and the mommie get the baby, and mummies are good to babies."- our 3 year old reader

4Not the greatest children's book ever
By Joni
Not the greatest children's book ever, but still good. I liked that it talked about even when you feel like you don't fit in, it can still be exactly where you belong...
