Well-made story, beautiful artwork and a great lesson for the youngest

‘Duck & Goose Go to the Beach’ written and illustrated by Tad Hills is a story of friendship, one exciting adventure, of routines and expectations that are often barriers to new beautiful discoveries.Duck and Goose are two best friends who love their meadow the most in the world. When one day Duck will suggests an adventure – leaving their meadow for a trip - Goose will not be too much happy about that idea.In the end he will decide to go with Duck and they will walk all the way to the beach where Duck will excitedly run down the hill to the beach without waiting for his friend. But because waves are loud and sand is hot Duck will not be too happy. On the other hand, Goose will be delighted with the water, diving inside though he will quickly realize how strong waves are.But it will be just the beginning of adventurous day in which the two friends will meet various animal companions, some more friendly than others and experience a lot of exciting things, eventually heading back to their beloved meadow...‘Duck & Goose Go to the Beach’ presents a nice story about friendship in which the author skillfully threw motives of routine and fear of the unknown in a way to be easily understood by young children.The situation in which two friends are leaving known to set off on a trip and experience a lot of exciting adventures to eventually return to the place they love the most is many times seen, but Tad Hills with his simple but beautiful illustrations with large motifs across almost the entire pages presents in the wonderful way that will attract the attention of young readers from two years upwards.Therefore a well-made story, beautiful artwork and a great lesson are recommendations for this interesting picture book made for the youngest.

My grandson lives near a Texas beach. I knew this book needed to be in his library. Tad Hills has become a trusted author for our family. We know our grandson will be drawn by the artwork, characters and storyline. Those birds are such good friends!

This book describes my parents (my Dad being Goose) so I had to buy it for my son because I get a laugh out of it. He enjoys the story as well as the illustrations.
