A hardy book for demanding readers.

This lift the flap book features animal sounds and pictures of the critters themselves. It is sturdy and the pages are very easy to turn. This isn't rocket science or great literature but it is an excellent book for a young child (6 to 13 months) who loves turning pages and looking at pictures. It might even help with simple animal recognition and identifying their sounds. This book will be idea for my granddaughter. Brynn's a little hard on some flip the flap books and rips the pages but this one will stand up to her "literary" demands!Book provided by publisher.

Barnyard Animals Out Loud

Honk, Honk! Baa, Baa! is a fun book for babies who will want to hear it read over and over again. They will feel invited to participate in the sound each animal makes as the pages progress. With the turn of the final page you will see how the cutaway pages throughout are used to create a Holstein cow on the final two page spread. Each page has bright, colorful drawings of the farm animals (donkey, sheep, pig, dog, cat, goose, and cow). The board book edition I have for reviewing purposes says, "lift the flaps" at the top of front cover where the cover pictured above states "flip-flap fun". I am a bit confused by the lift the flaps statement because there are no flaps to lift in the version I have, unless they are referring to the cutaway pages (which ultimately create the Holstein).

My granddaughter is a teacher and requested books for her baby shower. My twin great-granddaughters were born last week and are already being read to, actually, they should already know their abcs since their mom teaches kindergarten. My granddaughter loved this book with the fun pictures, and easy cadence. I'm sure it will get read a lot.
