The illustrated chapter book’s mix of silliness, fantasy, strong sense of place, and a realistic family make it a great pick for middle-grade readers.

More depth than you would expect, and funny too.

When my 8 year old daughter read the first of the Invisible Inkling books, she immediately wanted the whole series. We have not been disappointed. All of the books are very good & sometimes laugh out loud funny. I have also been pleased to find that the books address many emotional issues kids face: loneliness when a friend moves away, fitting in, being bullied, etc., in a gentle, "not in your face" sort of way. Other societal issues are also brought up, for instance Inkling's fear of scientists led my daughter and I into a discussion on the ethics of using animals for scientific research. All in all I like these books very much and am glad my daughter does too.

Obviously my 8 year old who read this book, liked it a lot! However, I felt the need to remove the inappropriate title that he gave the review and the gibberish that he typed! Rest assured that he enjoyed the book thorougly so I'm sure that other elementary school age boys will too! :)
