By Teresa A. Grigsby
Annie Barrows and Sophie Blackall have created a great series with Ivy + Bean. The book shows how two different girls can share common interest and create a great friendship. The book shows the power of friendship and how a friend sticks with you and helps you to accomplish what you believe. Bean sticks with Ivy as she looks for a crime to solve, even when all of the other children doubted her. This is a fun book that is entertaining yet tells a great story at the same time.

By Diane G.
Bean gets super sleuth training while watching a classic detective movie with her mother just in time to solve the case of the mysterious growing rope which is taking over Pancake Court. Will Ivy and Bean find out who's pulling the strings, umm rope or will this unlikely duo discover sometimes it's OK to not know? I like this book series because it educates girls about important women in history and science subtly during the course of the stories without blatantly spewing boring facts. I highly suggest you read these books to your little girl. They are the perfect bedtime stories for girls ages 5 years old and up.
