What a concept! Bright colors and bouncy, rhyming text in a Maisy board book make early learning friendly and fun.

One stripy tiger, go go go! Two strolling tortoises, slow slow slow! What better way to learn to count than exploring animals with Maisy? Three butterflies flutter, four fish swim along, five snails enjoy the rain—and everyone comes back on the final spread for a recount.

5Perfect book.
By Despina Misetzis
I am a nanny as well as a sitter for littles ones who are 5 months, 15mos, and 22 mos. This book is a favorite amongst them all. The book itself is a perfect size dimensionally, the contrast of colors against the white background is extremely visually appealing, and it's a great reading length. This book is short enough to suffice a short attention span but it also grabs the attention of a tiny reader. The reviewer before me mentioned how the end doesn't rhyme with the page before it, this is because the narrator in the show has an accent, the word "again" is supposed to be read with the same accent.

3Good choice for counting
By J.Prather
What a great book for counting! Maisy has it all! With it's bright colors, bold lines and charming characters, this is an excellent choice for any young one just learning to count to five. This is a nice sized board book, just barely big enough for story time sharing and perfect for lap time with mom or dad. We get to count from one to five, and the final two page spread invites the reader to count again. Each spread features a large depiction of the number and the number word, with the text and illustration appearing on the opposite page. All of the items to count are well defined and sure to capture the imagination.Since I always look for a great read aloud flow, I will note that the final rhyme "Five swirly snails, happy in the rain. All together now, count to five again!" falls a little flat. Rain and Again? The result is a big clunker when you are reading this to a group. This seems like a small quibble, but given the importance of rhyming in toddler language development, I wish it could have ended a bit better.

3only goes to #5
By mjsmjs
We like the Maisy Goes to Preschool book, but this one we're not crazy about. In particular, it's quite limited as it only goes to #5...and in our experience once kids start to learn numbers they go back and forth between all the single digits. My daughter may not remember five, but she does eight, and unfortunately this book cuts off the learning experience.
