When Cow gets her hooves on the farmer's car, she takes it for a wild ride through the country. Moooo! But a bump in the road brings this joy ride to a troublesome end. Moo-moo. . . Has Cow learned her lesson about living life in the fast lane? Moo?
Pairing two talented creators who managed to tell a complete story with just one word--MOO--this imaginative story will have readers laughing one moment and on the edge of their seats the next, as it captures the highs and lows of a mischievous cow's very exciting day.

I'm not a huge fan of wordless picture books, because I'm such a word lover! So, a picture book with only one word? I initially had my doubts. But not any more! The cow (fabulously brought to life by Mike Wohnoutka) is so expressive, and the way the single word "Moo" is repeated over and over, but in different fonts, sizes, weights, etc., is amazing. David LaRochelle tells a complete story that is very clear, even for visuals-challenged readers like me:>)The story involves a joy-riding cow whose adventure does not end well. It's a funny, funny book. And it would be great for educators to use in lessons about word choice. It's not *just* the word. What other aspects change how the reader will perceive that word?Really wonderful!

By Katie J. Van Ark
Grandma brought this home from the library for my five-year-old. She's so excited that she could read it by herself right away and I thought it was so funny I immediately had to get on Amazon and buy one for myself and another fellow kindergarten teacher. The story is only one word (plus one more with the twist at the very end) but the punctuation and pictures bring it to life, also making it perfect for teachers instructing about punctuation end marks. (Great CCSS resource!) My kindergarten class cracked up over this and it had the students not only reading but reading with expression. For home or school, five stars all the way!

I am a children's librarian, and I get to see a lot of wonderful books. This book is hilarious. And they managed all that hilarity with a word count of 2. Not to give anything away, but one of the words is "moo." You'll have to read the book to discover the other. The word "moo" perfectly captures each and every mood of this wonderful book...whether it be curiosity, joy, fear, or trepidation, "moo" is the only word required. This book will be fabulous family reading, if our cataloging department is any indication. Lots of giggles and belly laughs were coming from our work room. And don't miss the author's bios in the back. Happy Reading! Moo!
