The unique Viva's style and presentation

Frank Viva, known for his previous works for children ‘A Long Way Away’ and ‘Along a Long Road’, with his latest book ‘Outstanding in the Rain’ delivers another creative and innovative title for kids inviting them to actively participate in reading.The two main characters, a young boy and his mother, are going to an amusement park where they are going to spend an exciting day. As we follow the story written in verses, through the holes in each book page, the children will enjoy the transformation of colors and shapes, bringing on the each new page another surprise…Frank Viva with his latest book introduced an innovative approach where each cut page reveals the new scenes and new words, for example where one shiny colorful balloon on previous will become frozen sweet on following page, or one word in previous verse will become the part of other on following.On the other hand, although very interesting and different, one can not fail to notice that the author tried to subordinate everything to given form that sometimes does not look natural.However, when you take the good and less successful things, it must be said that this is still a book worth reading for the innovative concept, certainly managing to inspire the children imagination.Therefore, ‘Outstanding in the Rain’ is a good example that managed to show with only a small difference from the usual, one can achieve that particular book can become a very appealing and attractive because of the inspiration that awakens.Given the aforementioned, Frank Viva‘s interactive book despite the drawbacks and because of unique style and presentation can be recommended book for children.

Wonderful play on words, surprising cut-outs and my grand daughter loves it and giggled all the way through it.....She is 5 years old!
