Fashion goes to the dogs in this lovable follow-up to Say Hello to Zorro!

Mister Bud and Zorro get along just great. They wake up together, have walk time together, and take naps together. But something is about to interrupt their schedule: Zorro has to wear a fancy outfit.
Zorro is embarassed, mortified, aghast. Mr. Bud tries to cheer him up, but nothing works. Everyone makes fun of Zorro, and he refuses to participate in chew-on-a-stick time. Mister Bud doesn’t know what to do.
But when another dog—a very cool dog—shows up in an outfit and does amazing tricks and beats all the other dogs in a race, Zorro discovers that wearing clothes might not be so bad after all.
     Everything is back on schedule.

5An instant classic
By samantha goodrich
Like Say Hello to Zorro, the first in this series, Zorro Gets an Outfit is that rare children's book that pushes into the unique realm where it appeals to adults as much as to children. Goodrich's subtle illustrations and wry wit distinguish this book as being among the very best one can find. The text is economical, funny, and the illustrations establish a rich story with the sort of skill you see in Sendak, though the style is quite different. You can't go wrong with this book, or the one that preceded it for that matter.

4It's a sequel, but don't dismiss it
By sixthreeinheels
My goddaughter (age 2) was TOTALLY in love with the first book, Say Hello to Zorro, and when I discovered there was a sequel I was quick to snap it up--both for her, and for her parents, who had about memorized the first with all the cries of "Ag'n!" Taking into consideration that this is a sequel, it's really not bad. It lacks some of the charm of the first, but is a perfectly acceptable follow-up (and Ruby thinks it's swell, so I guess that's all that matters).

5One of my favorites to read
By H. Stull
I have not read the first Zorro book, and just picked this up at the library yesterday. Considering I have never been a dog owner, I can't believe how much I love this book and relate to the characters. I cannot read it without pausing to laugh at the amazing illustrations showing Zorro's embarrassment and slow sink into depression over his outfit, and then his exuberant return to over-confidence. And I love the character of Mr. Bud. Halfway through my first reading, I thought for sure that Mr. Bud was going to get jealous at some point, but no - he tried to cheer up Zorro when he was down, and then he was happy and supportive of him even when he was being a little obnoxious about how awesome his outfit is.My 5 and 6 year old love it. I will probably buy it just because its so awesome.
