Just Grace Gets Crafty (The Just Grace Series) Details

Grace has lots of new and exciting things to share in the latest addition to the Just Grace series! There's a new crossing guard in town named Marie who needs a bit of help making friends, a fun substitute teacher for Miss Lois, and most exciting, Grace and Mimi are going to have their own table at the craft fair! They are going to make lots of crafts to sell—and hopefully save up enough money to go to the county fair. There is one small problem, though—Mimi is a sewing natural, but when it comes to crafting, Grace doesn't know what to make. Leave it to Grace to come up with a great idea for the fair that is a big success, and even helps the new crossing guard find a friend.

5Another Win For The Just Grace Series
By Karen Joan
My daughter started reading the JUST GRACE series of books during the summer between Kindergarten and 1st grade. I loved these books then, because they challenged my precocious, young reader AND had appropriate content for someone of her age.Three years later (my little one is about to go into 4th grade!!!!) and many JUST GRACE books later, and the two of us still greatly enjoy this series.I asked my newly minted 4th grader to tell me what she still liked about the series and what she liked about this book JUST GRACE GETS CRAFTY. Her comments follow:"I like JUST GRACE because she feels like a real girl. She is in 3rd grade just like me. In all of the books, she is always herself, someone who could be my friend. She always has a new problem to solve, too, just like real life. In this book, she thought she was terrible at crafting, but then learned she wasn't. Sometime I am afraid to do something new, too. But I usually end up being pretty good. JUST GRACE GETS CRAFT was fast and easy to read. I finished it in two days because I love these books so much."So there you have it. I can guarantee you that this family will be buying JUST GRACE books for several more years.

5Great Character Building Stories For Wide Age Range
By Colorgirl
My daughter is 15 and loves these books. She has read all of the others, and said that this book is just as good as the previous ones. She said that she loves that this book is thicker (they have been getting thicker). It is a fast read for her, but she still loves the story line.Grace gets a new route to school and substitute teacher for a week. The new crossing guard is lonely and Grace wants to help her find friends. The new substitute teacher is nicer than the previous teacher. They are learning to make new crafty things and she learns that kids that are the class creeps or clowns are maybe not too bad. They get to do the craft fair and Grace and her friend make stuff together and the use this opportunity to help their new friend the crossing guard. This book is great for girls of the age 7 to 12 or 13, although my daughter loves these books so it is not limited to that age range. This book teaches good quality of character such as helping others, reconsidering people you are not particularly fond of, and exploring new areas that you might not normally be willing to explore. The illustrations are fun and really add to the story. This book is easy to read, keeps attention of even a young reader, even if a person is reading it to them, due to the pictures.I can say this, my daughter is already looking forward to reading the next one that comes out!

5Another winning installment in a great series.
By J.Prather
I hadn't checked in with Grace since the first book in this series was released and we met the girl who had the misfortune to be in a class with three other girls named Grace. I remember feeling so bad for her because she was stuck being "Just Grace" while also admiring her wit and charm. In this twelfth installment of the series, Grace is as charming as ever and she delivers more than a few laugh out loud lines that serve to add spice to what is a simple, sweet story of school days, friendship and family. It's easy to love Grace, with her super hero power of empathy, her huge heart, and her winning sense of humor. The author has really captured an authentic voice that readers will easily relate to, whether she is getting in trouble for talking, experiencing friend "over load", or feeling that special kind of excitement that comes from looking forward to a day filled with something different.Just Grace is a wonderful series that's perfect for young readers ready to move away from Junie B. Jones, but still looking for great school adventures. Solid writing, endearing cartoon doodles, and a heart felt message makes this Just Grace a winning installment in an always excellent series.
