By the GreatReads!
Princess Penelope and the Runaway Kitten is a delightful paper-over-board book designed primarily for kids 3 – 7 years. As the title suggests, it is about a polka-dot-boot wearing princess who is chasing a sugar-white kitten. Kids will tremendously enjoy the fun and treasure this amusing adventure.

By Denis Vukosav
“Princess Penelope and the Runaway Kitten” written by Nosy Crow and illustrated by Alison Murray is a story about one little princess chase for a mischievous kitten.Princess Penelope wanted to make friends with a little cat that was playing with her mother's yarn. But the small cat will run away and little princess will go after her following the pink trail all over the castle…“Princess Penelope and the Runaway Kitten” is written in rhymes and illustrated with colorful pictures full of details that makes tracing of pink yarn across each two-page spread very interesting to young readers with their small fingers. Therefore if you looking for nicely designed easy to read children book that will occupy your kid for some time while together chasing the small cat all through the castle, this one could be a good choice, especially if your toddler loves cats.On the other head, it’s not appropriate for bedtime story, because it stimulates the kid action, and not sleeping.

By J. Center
Let's see... I have a kitten and a 3 year old daughter named Penelope who likes princesses. Needless to say, my daughter thinks this book was written specifically for her. While the rhyme scheme can be a bit wonky and times (really, rhyming "knitting" with "kitten"?) it is otherwise a delightful read that has been made a semi regular part of our bedtime routine. The illustrations are adorable and my daughter loves the raised edge of the sparkling yarn that she can trace with her finger. As a children's librarian I think this one will also be a hit with our preschool storytime kids, though they will miss out on the tactile experience of following the yarn across the page.
